State House Medical Centre
The State house Medical Center provides Medical Services to the President, Vice President and their families, aides, staff of the State House and other entitled public servants. It is also a training facility for house officers and other medical personnels.The centre functions through specialized departments such as,
Peadiatrics department that manages children from birth to 18years made up of Paediatric medical ward, Paediatric out patient clinics and the Neonatal unit.
Lab Medicine, comprising four units, Haematology and blood transfusion, Clinical chemistry, Microbiology and Histopathology.
Department of Medicine, comprising two units, medical out- patient and Inpatient units.
Obstetric and Gyneacology Department for reproductive health.
DUTIES ROLE AND FUNCTIONS
2.1. Medical Outpatient clinics, Inpatient ward rounds, ECG procedure Echocardiography procedures Unit clinic presentations and unit general meetings.
2.2. Act as an approved HIV/AIDS trial centre for Retroviral Infection (RVI) medication as well as designated centre for routine immunization of children under five years.
2.3. Provides ante-natal/postnatal labour, gynecological, family planning and nutritional education.
2.4. Service provider for National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
2.5. Provides medical services for official guests of the president and the Vice president.
2.6. General medical clinics comprising hypertension and diabetis mellitus.
